This panel will highlight the advocacy of political leaders in subnational jurisdictions, such as state legislatures and city councils, in driving LGBT+ equality. Speakers will highlight policy areas that subnational representatives can influence, and how this can be leveraged to empower communities even when the national government is not committed to LGBTQIA+ rights.
