Michel Mau holds a Master’s degree in Marketing, Advertising and Communication from CELSA Paris-Sorbonne. Over the past two decades, he has developed recognised expertise at the intersection of marketing strategy, event culture, and community health. He began his professional trajectory in the early 2000s within the events and nightlife sectors, where he acquired in-depth knowledge of audience dynamics, party culture, and their broader social implications. This field-based experience provided him with a nuanced understanding of behavioural patterns, risk environments, and the socio-cultural contexts shaping public health challenges.Concurrently, he became actively engaged in community health initiatives, contributing to the design and implementation of prevention programmes. His work is characterised by a pragmatic, evidence-informed approach rooted in lived practices and real-world settings.Bridging strategic marketing methodologies with applied field expertise, Michel Mau focuses on the development of innovative prevention and advocacy frameworks, particularly within digital environments. He mobilises social marketing tools to design targeted outreach strategies adapted to specific audiences, while addressing processes of normalisation and online incentive mechanisms. In 2012, he founded the non-profit organisation PlaySafe, which he continues to chair. Under his leadership, PlaySafe has positioned itself as an innovative actor in digital prevention (“e-prevention disruptive”), developing pioneering initiatives aimed at renewing awareness-raising, harm reduction, and advocacy strategies across contemporary digital public spheres.
