Numan Afifi is a Malaysian LGBTQIA+ activist, policy advocate, and community organiser working at the intersection of legal reform, public health, and strategic communications. He currently serves as President of JEJAKA, a grassroots organisation supporting LGBTQIA+ communities through advocacy, leadership development, and community-led services.
Numan has experience engaging government stakeholders, media, and international human rights platforms on issues related to criminalisation, stigma, and access to justice. His work focuses on narrative change in restrictive environments, building sustainable community spaces, and strengthening regional solidarity across the Global South and East.
He regularly contributes to policy dialogues, conferences, and capacity-building initiatives, bringing grounded perspectives from movement work in partially criminalised contexts.
