"Sanaya Bal is a 24-year-old transgender Buddhist woman from Nepal, dedicated to advocating for mental wellness within the queer community. Currently working as a mental health peer advocate at the Public Health and Environment Research Centre Nepal, Sanaya brings a wealth of experience to her role. Previously, she served as a Hormonal Clinical Consultant at Nepal’s first HRT clinic at the Family Planning Association of Nepal. She also held the position of Vice President at Rainbow Disability Nepal, the country's pioneering organization for the queer community with disabilities. Sanaya's commitment extends to volunteering with organizations like FHI 360 and participating in the South Asian Young Women Leadership Program, where she volunteered to create LGBTIQ-friendly hospitals in collaboration with Mitini Nepal. Through her diverse experiences, Sanaya is passionate about fostering inclusivity and providing support for the LGBTQ+ Community.
