Lucas Paoli Itaborahy is an LGBTIQ+ activist and human rights specialist with over 15 years of experience shaping policy and advocacy, both in Brazil and internationally. He has previously worked for the Brazilian government and has consulted for international NGOs, such as ILGA World, ARC, COC, and Koppa. Over the last decade, Lucas has been actively involved in developing economic empowerment programs for Micro Rainbow International Foundation in Brazil, the UK, and Cambodia. He conceived and led Micro Rainbow’s innovative program in Brazil, which has supported over 600 low-income LGBTI+ entrepreneurs in breaking the cycle of poverty and improving their livelihoods, earning recognition from the Latin American Development Bank as an outstanding support for micro-businesses in Brazil in 2017. In 2022, he launched his own consultancy, Diversità Consultoria, through which he offers further entrepreneurship opportunities for vulnerable LGBTIQ+ individuals in Brazil. In 2024, he received the Alumni Inspiration and Innovation Award from the University of Roehampton (UK), where he earned a master's degree in Human Rights Practice in 2012.
