About the spreaker
Born and raised in Penang, Malaysia, Raymond was awarded the Confucius Institute Scholarship and pursued Linguistics in Shanghai, China. He is a growing professional in marketing technology and digital commerce for award-winning global digital experience and solutions companies. He recently graduated with MBA at Asia School of Business in collaboration with MIT Sloan Management. He also holds a BA in Chinese Language (TCSL) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. As the Co-founder of ShanghaiPRIDE, Raymond manages various operations and events within the festival. He established the volunteer management team and leads the ShanghaiPRIDE Film Festival, Workplace DEI and Red Ribbon Gala. He also manages the community organizations, corporate and foreign consulates partnerships, and is cultural liaison with various bureaus. Raymond is a sought-after speaker when it comes to DEI and LGBTQ inclusion in China and Asia. He has a vast understanding of the DEI landscape in China and Asia often speaks at corporate DEI conferences, including companies in technology, supply chain, pharmaceutical, creative media and foreign consulates. Also at TEDx series and top educational institutions. Recently, he spoke at the Copenhagen World Pride 2021, represented ShanghaiPRIDE at the ILGA World Conference 2022 in the USA, and selected to participate in the first International LGBTQI+ Activism Summit at Harvard Kennedy School.
