Daniel Benitez is a passionate advocate for gender equality, economic justice, and trans-led initiatives, with over seven years of experience in grant development, capacity-building, and community empowerment. Holding a Master of Arts in Sustainability and Circular Economy and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, Daniel specializes in designing participatory frameworks that strengthen trans-led organizations and advance sustainable economic and health models for marginalized communities. As the former HIV & Prevention Coordinator at Fenway Health, Daniel developed and managed grants targeting HIV-positive and vulnerable LGBTQ+ populations, while coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives to improve access to care and economic support. Previously, as Program Director at GAAT Foundation, he led trans-led economic empowerment initiatives in Colombia, fostering strategic alliances and increasing employment opportunities for trans and gender-diverse individuals. Daniel’s expertise spans stakeholder engagement, resource mobilization, and knowledge generation, with a focus on intersectional approaches to health, economic justice, and human rights. A trilingual professional (English, Spanish, German), he has contributed to global dialogues as a keynote speaker at the United Nations Trans Advocacy Week, AIDS Conference, and Global Trans Conference, advocating for inclusive policies and economic independence for trans communities.
