About the spreaker
Yanna Parnin is Head of SOGIESC Unit at the Council of Europe, where she leads the Organisation’s work to promote the human rights of LGBTI people and advance equality and inclusion. In this role, she supports the development and implementation of Council of Europe policies and standards, and coordinates cooperation with member states, international organisations and civil society. She has extensive experience in international human rights law, gender equality and inclusive institutions, both in policy development and implementation. Prior to her current role, she served as Head of the Gender Equality Policy Unit at the Council of Europe. She has also worked with the United Nations in Haiti and the Central African Republic, focusing on gender-responsive institutions in conflict-affected and post-conflict settings, including access to justice and institutional reform.
