About the spreaker
Lord Herbert has been a life peer in the UK House of Lords since 2020, having previously served in the House of Commons 2005-2019. He has chaired the Global Equality Caucus since 2019 and was the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy on LGBT Rights 2021-2024. He was the first openly gay Conservative elected to the House of Commons and established the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global LGBT Rights in 2015.
