About the spreaker
Alex Hernández Muro is a Peruvian psychologist, author, and Executive Director of Mas Igualdad Perú. With a Master’s in Neuropsychology and training in gender studies, they have led pioneering research on LGBTIQ+ mental health, including Peru’s first and second exploratory studies, and is the author of República de Invisibles, a landmark work on LGBTIQ+ citizenship in Peru. Alex currently serves as Subregional Advisor for ILGA LAC and part of the bisexual Committee for ILGA WORLD, where they participate in multiple international networks focused on human rights and movement-building. They also advises advocacy and research processes across sectors, strengthening evidence-based strategies for equality and institutional transformation. Their work bridges scientific rigor, community-centered practice, and regional activism.
