About the spreaker
Marije Cornelissen (she/her) is driving the initiative to make Pride worldwide heritage at UNESCO. During and after her mandate as Member of the European Parliament, Marije has stood up for LGBTQIA+ and women’s human rights. She supported many of the first Prides in Eastern Europe and the Balkans, and organised the first Trans rights conference in the European Parliament. Beside her work for Pride, she is also Director of UN Women the Netherlands and researcher and trainer in EU advocacy for various organisations.
