Simone Juárez is an LGBTQIA+ trade union activist and community organiser from Moreno, Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she serves as Secretary of Gender & Diversity within ASTMM, the municipal workers’ union. Her work bridges labour organising with broader social movements, building connections between trade unions, cooperatives, cultural spaces, and afroreligious communities to create more inclusive and supportive environments. Through grassroots organising, Simone has led sensitisation workshops on gender discrimination, helped establish support networks for workers facing workplace violence, and fostered collective empowerment through community-based approaches. Passionate about strengthening international solidarity and expanding opportunities for inclusion, she brings a perspective rooted in local activism, coalition-building, and social justice.
