About the spreaker
Longstanding politician and non-binary activist for over twenty years. Currently, LGBTI Liberals of Europe Board Member, representing UK Liberal Democrats through being Honorary Vice President of LGBT+ Liberal Democrats. I also work voluntarily as Liberal Democrat's Equality Research Adviser in the House of Lords to Baroness Barker.  Internationally known as the first openly HIV+ parliamentary candidate to stand in at a General Election in the UK in 2015, I also wrote the motion to Liberal Democrat Conference on Equal Marriage in 2010 which started the campaign for same-sex marriage rights in the U.K. I am also Co-Vice Chair of Federal International Relations Committee for the Liberal Democrats and sit on Global Sister party organisation - Liberal International Human Rights Committee - leading on LGBTQ+ rights.  I was present at the massive Budapest Pride march last year, and have continually spoken out on LGBTQ+ rights across the world including Russia, Uganda, Iran, Mexico to name but a few. I'm also an activist in the LGBTQ+ sporting world, having been a founder of the UK LGBT Sports Network, member of London 2018 Gay Games Bid team and then from 2020 until end of last year on the Federal of Gay Games Board - as Vice President of External Relations and have competed in 2010, 2018 and 2023 and now in 2026 in powerlifting, golf, 5 and 10km runs, Football and Dancesport.
