About the spreaker
Nadja Arontschik is an LGBTQ+ activist from Belarus, dedicated to providing community space, visibility and support for Russian-speaking queer people. Since 2019 she has been focusing strongly on bi+ activism advocating for bi+ visibility and true inclusion in the community. She is the co-founder of the Russian initiative Bi+ platform, which aims to make Bi+ activism sustainable and continuously evolving. She is also Board member of the first pan-European Bi+ Umbrella Organisation – Bi+ Equal.
Transcending mononormativity in all the ways as a bisexual and non-monogamous person, Nadja shares her personal experiences and challenges of finding a place to belong and feel seen within the LGBTQIA+ movement. She offers her lived experience in a context of restrictive countries (Belarus and Russia), where being bi+ and poly is not only not accepted by mainstream society, but is also potentially punishable by law.
