About the spreaker
Tamás ÖTVÖS is a volunteer organiser at Budapest Pride and member of the organisation’s Public Relations working group, where he works on advocacy, political relations, and collaborations with civil society organisations and corporate partners. Through his work, he focuses on strengthening civic engagement, building solidarity networks, and supporting long-term social change and democratic values in Hungary.
A key part of his work is connecting different stake holders, communities, and creative initiatives, while helping grassroots queer groups and collectives reach wider audiences and gain greater visibility through the platforms and networks connected to Budapest Pride.
Over the years, he has coordinated and led several projects within the organisation, including an awareness-raising communication campaign in 2026 and the vehicle project of the historic 2025 Budapest Pride March, one of the largest demonstrations for human rights in contemporary Hungarian history.
Outside activism and work, he enjoys spending time in nature with his partner and their dog, as well as traveling, learning languages, meeting people from different backgrounds.
