Juan Carlos Alonso holds a degree in Dramatic Arts from Spain’s Royal School of Dramatic Arts (RESAD) and is a cultural producer and manager. Active in the international LGBTQIA+ movement since 1996, he has played a leading role in the development of MADO Madrid Pride MADO. A founding member of AEGAL, he has been instrumental in strengthening Madrid’s international presence within the global Pride movement, helping secure both EuroPride 2007 and WorldPride 2017 for the city. He has served on the board of the European Pride OrganisersAssociation (EPOA) in several leadership roles and currently serves as Co-Representative forRegion 14 on InterPride’s Global Advisory Council. Since 2017, he has advised the Madrid Summit International Human Rights Conference, heldannually during Madrid Pride in collaboration with the European Parliament and the EuropeanCommission. He also directs Muestra·T, MADO’s cultural festival, is President of the culturalassociation NOHAYQUORUM, and is a founding trustee of the Pedro Zerolo Foundation.
