About the spreaker
Damien Kwadjo is an emerging multidisciplinary artist, cultural producer, and community organizer based in Accra, Ghana. He is also a co-founder of Engagement-Q Community (EQC) - a queer-led climate-first youth development organisation in Ghana. His professional practice sits at the intersection of creative expression and social activism, focusing on amplifying marginalized voices and fostering dialogue around identity, culture, and systemic issues.
Damien Kwadjo’s work is characterized by a "multifaceted approach" to art, which he employs to evoke empathy and build awareness regarding violence, abuse, and discrimination. By engaging in archival work and creative interventions, he aims to create "safer spaces" that facilitate connection and daily resistance for those under social or legal pressure. His practice challenges conventional norms regarding identity and social structures, working to build networks of international solidarity and speculative queer futures. He continues to speak and present his work on global platforms by focusing on reimagining political power and community resilience in repressed societies within the Global Majority.
