Priya Nair is a proud New Yorker, public servant, and nationally recognized leader inLGBTQ+ advocacy and equity policy. As the Executive Director of the NYC Commission onGender Equity in the historic Mamdani administration, Priya brings nearly a decade ofexperience advancing inclusive, mission-driven policy across New York State and Citygovernment. During their time in public service, Priya has worked for two governors, twomayors, and two city council speakers, and has helped to advance landmark LGBTQ+policies such as non-binary gender markers on state IDs and non-discrimination protectionsfor transgender people.Priya holds a B.A. in psychology from Vassar College. Their background as queer, non-binary, and South Asian informs both their personal and professional dedication to buildingmore equitable, inclusive, and representative systems for all.
