About the spreaker
Alberto Inzulza Galdames is a dental surgeon (Universidad Finis Terrae) with a Master of Public Health in Global Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a Master in Public Management from UTEM Chile. He works as an adviser to Chile's Undersecretariat of Public Health, where his work sits where health, gender and human rights meet. Within the Chilean state he has focused on the health of trans and gender-diverse people, serving as general editor of the country's first national trans health policy. He has also worked on the prevention and control of STIs and HIV among key populations, dignified and non-discriminatory care, sexual and reproductive health, and Chile's economic, social and cultural rights (ESCR) reporting to the United Nations. He mapped and systematised Chile's body of LGBTIQ+ health policy, tracing where the state moves forward, where it slips back, and where it still does not reach. He is currently pursuing a PhD in global health equity at NTNU in Norway and teaches as a professor at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile.
