About the spreaker
Jo-an van der Tol is a Dutch family law lawyer and founder of WENS Familierecht, a boutique firm specialising in modern parenthood, including donor conception and surrogacy. Since 2009, she has guided intended parents, donors, and families through every legal stage, from pre-conception counselling to litigation, with a child-centered, solution-oriented approach. Jo-an is also a lecturer and author on assisted reproduction and family law. She holds several advisory roles, including the legislative advisory committee on Family and Youth Law of the Dutch Bar Association, the advisory committee of the Foundation for Donor Data Artificial Fertilisation, chair of Dutch Rainbow Family Professionals, and the editorial board of the National Information Point on Surrogacy.
