About the spreaker
Venus is a Filipina transfeminist activist based in Paris, France. She is a Research and Program Associate at Outright International, where she monitors and analyzes global legal and policy developments on SOGIESC, engages UN human rights mechanisms on LGBTIQ issues, and conducts research on attacks on queer people’s right to electoral participation around the world. Venus is also an administrator at the Paris-based Solidarité Internationale LGBTQI (SIL), a French association working to support LGBTIQ communities in the Global South and reinforce French solidarity for LGBTIQ rights worldwide. She founded and manages QueerInfo, SIL's monthly French-language newsletter on global LGBTIQ news and opportunities.
